Neutering & Spaying

If you do not plan to breed your pet, we recommend the neutering of females and males from the age of 6 to 7 months. You can make an appointment to discuss with your veterinarian to know if this is the best solution for your pet and when it would be most appropriate for him. Spaying females can significantly reduce the risk of mammary tumors if it is done before the first heat. Castration of male cats, when they are young, prevents the occurrence of behaviors such as urine marking. However, rare complications following neutering can occur. Do not hesitate to consult your veterinarian for more information.

For most neuterings, the veterinary team will perform a health check before the surgery to make sure your pet is fit to be anesthetized. This health check is included in the price of surgery, excluding supplementary examinations which are sometimes needed (blood tests, x rays, … ). On this occasion, we will ask you also to pay in advance one-third of the surgery price, when making an appointment for the day of surgery.
